STORY:
A boy journeys across Brooklyn as he seeks to return his friend’s notebook before the day’s end.
ROLES:
NAZIER (LEAD ROLE) Male. Age 8-12. Black, African American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latino. Bold, curious, and quietly charismatic. An emotionally intelligent adventurer, familiar with the city, always questioning the world around him. As he journeys for his friend’s missing notebook, he reveals his inquisitive spirit and deft people skills.
AMANI (SUPPORTING ROLE) Female. Age 13-16. Black, African American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latino. Nazier’s older sister. A social butterfly with an attitude and a memorable smile. Like Nazier, she’s spunky and outgoing, but has a (playful) edge.
JULES (DAY PLAYER) Male or Female. Age 13-16. Any ethnicity. Amani’s crush. Has natural swagger. Loves to tease Amani.
ANDRE (SUPPORTING ROLE) Male. Age 8-12. Any ethnicity. Nazier’s friend. Sensitive, painfully quiet. An introvert. Andre might grow up to be a successful artist, but right now, remains the smallest (and shyest) kid in his class.
TRISTAN (SUPPORTING ROLE) Male. Age 8-12. Any ethnicity. Nazier’s street savvy friend. Has distinctive red hair, a big smile, and an easy charm.
JERMAINE (SUPPORTING ROLE) Male. Age 8-12. Black, Afro-Latino, or Latino. Nazier’s friend. Big for his age in every sense of the word. He has chubby cheeks and takes up a lot of physical space. Jermaine is a class clown always going for the laugh and has an excuse for everything.
MARIE (SUPPORTING ROLE) Female. Age 35-40. Black, African American, Afro-Caribbean, or Afro-Latino. Nazier’s mom. Tough but loving and in touch with her spiritual side. A medical worker and jazz lover.
